Terms of Service

Last updated: April 7, 2026

Skilled trades keep the world running. We built Carbyn to help your team capture expertise and work safer. These terms govern your use of our platform. By using Carbyn, you agree to them.

1. What Carbyn is

Carbyn is an AI-powered workforce platform for skilled trades. Our tools include smart glasses integration, real-time guidance, knowledge capture, SOP generation, and compliance documentation. Carbyn is operated by Carbyn, AI Inc., a company incorporated in California.

2. How it works

Technicians wear Carbyn-enabled smart glasses while working. The system uses camera and microphone input to identify equipment, provide step-by-step guidance, flag safety hazards, and generate documentation automatically. Supervisors can view live feeds and annotate remotely.

3. Your account

You need an account to use Carbyn. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Organization admins can manage team members and access levels.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Carbyn. If you're setting up Carbyn for your company, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms on behalf of your organization.

4. Pricing and payment

Carbyn is currently available through our early access program. Pricing and payment terms will be communicated directly when you join. If and when we introduce paid plans, we will notify you in advance and provide clear pricing before any charges apply.

5. Your data and content

You own the content you and your team create through Carbyn: captured sessions, generated SOPs, compliance reports, and training materials. We do not claim ownership of your data.

You grant us a limited license to process your data solely to provide and improve the Carbyn service. Your proprietary knowledge is never used to train models for other customers. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle data.

6. Your responsibilities

  • Use Carbyn in accordance with applicable laws and workplace safety regulations.
  • Ensure all team members using smart glasses consent to camera and audio recording in the workplace.
  • Do not use Carbyn to record in areas where recording is prohibited or where individuals have not been informed.
  • Do not reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the Carbyn platform.
  • Report any security issues or unauthorized access to us promptly.

7. AI and safety

Carbyn's AI provides guidance based on captured knowledge and manufacturer data. It is a decision-support tool, not a replacement for professional judgment. Technicians should always follow established safety procedures and applicable codes. Carbyn is not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated guidance.

8. Updates to the platform

We continuously improve Carbyn. We may add, change, or remove features. We'll give you advance notice of significant changes. If a change materially reduces the service you're paying for, you may cancel.

9. Limitation of liability

Carbyn is provided "as is." We do our best to keep things reliable, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Carbyn, AI Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You can stop using Carbyn at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination, your data remains available for export for 90 days, after which it is deleted.

11. Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of California. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in California, except where prohibited by law. You agree to attempt informal resolution before filing any formal claim.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll notify you of material changes via email or the platform. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
